Your Local Connection

Despite a booming tourism industry, Siem Reap province remains one of the poorest in Cambodia with negligible amounts of economic prosperity reaching those in the countryside. Jasmine Lodge has attempted to rectify this where possible with its ‘pro-poor’ employment, tour and food policies. Kunn employs eight permanent members of staff (6 general, 1cook and 1 laundry) and all have been recruited from villages outside of Siem Reap (Kunn: “Tourism does not reach there”). All eight employees receive accommodation and training, and can go to school locally. They also receive $40 per month in salary. These staff benefit from on-the-job English language training, through interaction with guests, as they go along.More story

We have our vacation in Cambodia and so luckily to stay in Jasmine Lodge from 19-22 May 2010. I would strongly recommend and praise for the friendly service. The room is clean, well maintain with the necessary facilities. The dinner serving is delicious. I like the most for the breakfast is tomato cheese bread, it’s so yummy… Although it’s a short trip, I’m very glad to know all of you and thanks for the sharing of your country’s history and culture. I’m definitely will come back again, keep it up!

I love Jasmine Lodge. They take care of their guests very well. Very friendly rates and super friendly staff. Thanks to Mr. Kunn and to his nephew Hak and everyone at Jasmine Lodge. Highly-recommended... Next time, I'll go back to Jasmine Lodge if I ever have another chance.

Date: Wednesday 12th of May 2010 We stayed at the jasmine lodge in March this year and found the staff were very pleasent and beneficial in looking after us at the lodge.Myself and friend Angry cant thank Chinn enough for taking us out to eat the local Kemher food and experiencing the local musicians at the restraunt. Also Mr Kunn runs a very clean and efficent lodge that offers alot to the tourist.I cant wait to visit Cambodia again and stay there as it was extremely good value in price in what it offered. What i say all staff make you feel welcome like it is their home.

I lived at Jasmine Lodge for 3 months and had a very comfortable stay. The staff are hard working and the service has been a positive experience. I highly recommend everyone this Guesthouse as a short term or long term accommodation option.

We stayed at the Jasmin Lodge for a couple of days. We had a fairly pleasent stay a the lodge. The staff was friendly and always tried to help out in any situation. The dishes for lunch and supper were excellent, the breakfast could use some less european and american touch. We can recomend this guesthouse. BUT please work on the bustour to Bangkok!!! A ticket for 10 dollar for a ac bus with a toilet on board directly to Bangkok??The tour took 11 houres and stopped every hour at som restaurnt along the way. I know you try to generate some sales for family and friends, but this tour is am scam and degrade the good impression of the guesthouse.

Jasmine Lodge is an absolutely fantastic place to stay. I don't know where to start with the praise. firstly the staff are all so friendly and helpful and they all speak excellent english. the lady on the front desk is so kind and helpful with everything that you need. We wanted to stay for longer and spend our Christmas here however due to unfortunate circumstances we have to get to Phnom Penh urgently. The rooms are clean, the hot water is hot!, the cable TV is actually cable with lots of channels to choose from.. value for money you can not go wrong! We didn't need to go anywhere outside of the guesthouse to get food because they make the best food we have had in SE Asia so far! We have eaten the curry vegetable in young coconut every day and the quality has not changed and has been insanely delicious. They also order pizza from happy herb pizza which is also delicious again best pizza we have had in SE asia! AND they do not skimp on the breakfast like most places we have been to in SE Asia! if you order bread you get a whole warm baguette! and the fruit side is good too! Their Tuk Tuk Drivers won't rip you off and you can hire them to go to Angkor Wat. our driver really looked after us when we were getting hounded by "you buy from me only one dollar" women and children fighting for your business when he saw that we had had enough he kept and eye out for us and when he saw us approaching he would drive to us to pick us up! Because of our circumstances we had to make a lot of enquiries about the location of a hospital and we needed to make some advance calls to Phnom Penh. They helped us so much and even told us the location of a private english speaking doctor which was nice but regardless we need a hospital. And the lady at the desk let us use her mobile phone to make the calls we needed to make without charging us...they will see a tip for this! They book everything for you here and if you are getting a bus onwards through Mekong Express they will pick you up from Jasmine Lodge which means you don't have to organise getting to the bus station. All in All fantastic. Thank you so much Jasime Lodge and staff for the wonderful stay if we return to Siem Reap we will be staying with you and if we have friends that pass through we will be telling them to stay here also! thanks a bunch!
